A Reverend's recollection of his travels and missionary work across North America. Pierson was interested in observing the culture of different regions in the United States. Reverend Pierson primarily describes the southwest here, but also discusses Georgia before the Civil War, including a description of nineteenth-century Black-American funeral customs (one of the plates depcits a Black-American funeral), and a description of Haiti.
