Smithsonian Magazine, Arthur Lubow, "Edvard Munch: Beyond The Scream". Munch led a troubled, turbulent life and produced the largest part of his oeuvre in the first half of his lifetime. A Norwegian artist, he is said to have been influential on the later German expressionists, and he himself was influenced by Gaugin, Van Gogh, and Toulouse-Lautrec. Upon his death Munch left thousands of prints, paintings, and drawings in his home. While most people know Munch only for his painting, The Scream, this book provides a fabulous overview of his prolific output of sketches and paintings. Near Fine. Item #000012648
