Marbled endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated with three plates and an additional three folding plates (one of which is in color) along with several charts. One of the title pages is inscribed by Vicente Marcano to A. Naquet, a fellow physician and chemist. The two collaborated on a paper on the sugar industry. The first blank leaf of this book has all ten titles that are bound in here written out. Some of the works are in French, others are in Spanish. Most are journal articles although there does appear to be one book bound in here. One of the articles concerns the composition of bananas and appropriate uses for the fruit. Very Good. Significant rubbing to the boards' edges, one of the works bound in is trimmed, though all the text is visible. Its leaves are brittle and only a few are chipped.
