European Traveler, "See Renaissance Frescoes at the Camposanto Cemetery in Pisa". The frescoes depicted in these engravings were painted during the Renaissance. The paintings contain biblical scenes. Rebecca, Isaac, Job, the Ephesians, Abraham, Esau, Jacob, and several other principal characters from the Bible are rendered, full of emotion and pathos as their stories play out in the decorative scenes. Sadly, many of the frescoes were destroyed during the Second World War, and only some were saved. This volume is a lovely visual guide to what the frescoes looked like before they were lost to fire. Very Good. Item #000012909

Rubbing to the corners and joints, but the binding is strong and secure; some foxing to the pageblock.
