Theophrastus was student of Aristotle's and an accomplished philosopher and logician. His Characters, one of the surviving works from his prolific canon, constitutes a list of brief outlines of negative personality types exhibited by people. Moss refers to Schneider's edition as the best one, Dibdin says "the collector should not be without it." The book contains an account of the surviving manuscripts which provide modern readers with the remaining works of Theophrastus, and incorporates elements of Amadutius' editing into his own. This is the first Schneider edition of Theophrastus' Characters. Near Fine. Item #000013139
