Brown coated endpapers and pastedowns. States "new edition" on the title page. With 42 illustrations (in-text and full-page, all done in black and white) by John Tenniel. Lovett 20a. A later issue of this edition: according to Lovett, this is the first Macmillan edition produced in America. First released in 1865, this is a lovely copy of Lewis Carroll's classic tale of whimsy, a fantastical story which became a cultural juggernaut. Very Good. Item #000014642
