Contemporary green cloth boards with gilt lettering blocked in brown leather on the spine; all edges gilt. Binding done by Parisian bookbinder L. Lemardeley (Léon Lemardeley). With handmade paper for the endpapers and pastedowns. The original cream pictorial wrappers are bound in, the only thing not bound in is the pink silk tie. A colorful ribbon bookmark is bound in. With colorful, captivating illustrations done (four color plates) by Kate Greenaway. Engraved and printed by Edmund Evans. Brewer 9-10. Schuster and Engen 166. Thomson 92.
