Greenaway was one of the most successful illustrators and artists of the Victorian era. Her classic motif of children in eighteenth and early-nineteenth century clothing warmed her audience's hearts, providing an escape to a simpler, dreamier reality. The 1883 and 1897 volumes lack their free front endpapers, a slim crack to each board on the 1886 volume, otherwise the almanacks occasionally present light general rubbing and wear to their extremities.
