[5], vi-xviii, [1], 20-591, [7] pp. Brown publisher's cloth with a decoration and lettering stamped in gold on the front board, borders in blind on the front board, gold lettering, decoration, and the publisher's device in gold on the spine; all edges sprinkled brown. Peach endpapers and pastedowns. Fully illustrated by eminent artists: with two frontispieces, six plates, and numerous in-text wood-engravings. This copy housed in a custom clamshell brown, green, and grey cloth case, gold lettering and gold rules on the spine of the case. The interior lined with marbled paper. APG 009f. BAL 3337. McBride 18. Our copy does not have a publisher's ad at page [592] but it has the first issue point at page 242 line 20/21. Ahearn and BAL notes they have seen copies bound with and without the ad on p. [592] and do not assign priority to this point. Both do assign priority to the point on p. 242.
