Illustrated with twenty-five chromolithograph plates from drawings by A.F. Lydon. Bound in green cloth stamped in black and gilt, beveled edge boards, all edges gilt. The front board contains an inset decoration on purple cloth with gilt, green, and red lettering. Vignette engraved title page, with a chromolithograph illustrating the page. Each lithograph presents a stunning illustration of the different lakes covered in the book. Contemporary owner's name dated 1886 with reference to the book as a wedding gift on the front pastedown. A lovely overview of several English lakes and the local history concerning each lake. Very Good. Item #00008129
A Very Good book with moderate foxing throughout, a small repair to the crown of the spine, and two very faint dampstains on the rear pastedown.
