Burton) through France and Italy to Egypt and the Middle East, and onward to India. She records their daily activities, what they ate and saw, and who they spoke to along the way. Lady Burton also reflects upon the diseases of the time, and the concern she had contracting cholera and small pox in the different parts of the world that she toured.
