The set contains all of the papers and letters (including his letters to Congress) of General Major Charles Lee, and the proceedings of his General Court Martial at the order of George Washington (Lee's papers range from 1754 to 1811). The collection from 1875 contains the letters of Major General James Pattison. Publisher's notice laid in to the 1875 collection letting the subscriber know that the seventh volume of the society's series, Lee Papers, Volume IV, will be issued after the 1875 collection's publication. A Very Good set with the rear hinge of volume one faintly cracked, a few traces of wear to the boards, and volume two showing mild foxing.
