Illustrated by a frontispiece, numerous plates and full-page illustrations, with in-text illustrations by Thomas Macquoid (Katharine's husband; around 50 illustrations in total). Oxford DNB, "Macquoid [née Thomas], Katharine Sarah [pseud. Gilbert Percy]". Katharine Macquoid was a novelist and travel writer. She lived in London and in various places in France during the nineteenth and early twentieth century. This is her narrative of her travels in Italy, with illustrations of San Domenico, the Fontana Borghese, Porta Augusta, Piazza Sopra Mura, the entrance to Assisi, and various other churches and statues she saw along the way.
