Illustrated with a frontispiece and a plate from the 1828 first edition of Campbell's collected poems pasted onto a blank leaf tipped in after the frontispiece. With twenty additional in-text steel engravings by Edward Goodall after drawings by J.M.W. Turner. The second Edward Moxon edition, first printed in 1836. With three hand-written notes from Thomas Campbell to the owner of the volume (J. Christie of Lincoln Inn Fields). Two letters are pasted on the pastedowns, one is attached with archival tape to the first blank leaf, and a fourth hand-written note sent on behalf of Campbell is laid in.
