The writer goes on to recommend that his friend look up Louise Kellogg of the Wisconsin State Historical Society: "She is about your age, stone deaf, but one of the most charming and likeable women I know - a real refutation of the theory that a woman P.H.D. held in the highest regard for her education in her field must note be likeable as a human being". Lakes in Madison, the Rock River, the Fox River, the Wisconsin River, and the Mississippi are depicted and discussed in this charming book. The author and his wife spent countless days canoeing and enjoying the beauty of these Midwestern waterways. Very Good. Item #00009987
